How do I hook up my filter?

 

1.I have a Skim Filter.

To hook up your skim filter-

1. Attach a hose from the skimmer to the horizontal port (front) of the motor & pump.

2. Attach another hose to the port which is on the LONG side of the motor & pump.
The other end attaches to the return port in the pool.

**Be sure to use clamps on ALL hose attachments
**If you have a Hair & Lint Basket, you must attach it to the pump BEFORE you attach the skimmer hose. This basket can be clamped or glued using PVC cement (available at most hardware stores).



2. I have a DE filter.


To Hook up Your DE Filter

1. Attach a hose from the skimmer to the port on the front of the motor & pump.
The front is the NARROW part of the motor & pump.

2. Attach another hose to the port which is on the LONG side of the pump or on the
top of the pump.
The other end attaches to the valve on the port marked filter.

3. Attach a hose from the valve on the port labelled 'RETURN' to the return fitting on
the wall of the pool.

4. Use an optional backwash hose on the waste port for backwash.

3. I have a sand filter.

I have a push pull tank with 3 openings

To hook up your push pull sand filter-

1. Attach a hose from the skimmer to the front of the pump.

2. Attach another hose from the pump to the middle of the valve.

3. Attach a hose from the bottom port on the valve to the return

4. Attach an optional waste hose to the top port on the valve.

--> Handle up for filter --> Handle down for backwash * Be sure to clamp all connections


I have a six position valve

To hook up your sand filter

1. Attach a hose from the skimmer to the port on the front of the motor & pump.
The front is the NARROW part of the motor & pump.

2. Attach another hose to the port which is on the LONG side of the pump or on the
top of the pump.
The other end attaches to the valve on the port which has the gauge on it.

3. Attach a hose from the valve on the port labelled 'RETURN' to the return fitting on
the wall of the pool.

4. Use an optional backwash hose on the waste port for backwash.

4. I have a Hayward EC30 or EC40.

To hook up your Hayward D.E. Filter-

1. Attach a hose from the front of the pump to the skimmer.

2. Attach another hose from the top of the filter to the return port on the pool.

3. The port on the bottom of the tank is where the dirty water exits the tank when
you drain it.
You should attach a back wash hose to it. (Optional- 25' - 100')

--> Be sure to use the white teflon tape on all of the fittings. --> On/off valves are optional
